Ncell and Samsung all set to launch Galaxy S3 in June

After introducing Blackberry two years ago, Ncell is now launching yet another smartphone in the local market, the Samsung Galaxy S3. Samsung Electronics’ top-of-the-range Galaxy S3 has recently hit stores worldwide.
Ncell is bringing the Galaxy S3 in partnership with Samsung’s local authorised distributor and two commercial banks. Ncell is all set to start taking pre-bookings and launch the handset on June 27. Ncell will make available the S3 to customers bundling a service of its Pro plans.

International Marketing Services (IMS), the sole authorised distributor, will import the S3 handsets and Ncell will be the sole seller in the local market. Sources said that Ncell would receive pre-bookings for the S3 within a week. The much talked about S3 will be available on instalment basis with monthly payments of around Rs 6,500. Ncell would not divulge its S3 plans, but Sanju Koirala, corporate communications manager of Ncell, said that the company had something special for customers as in the past. “An announcement will be made soon,” she added.
To buy the phone on instalment basis, customers will need to have an account with Nabil Bank or the Bank of Kathmandu. Based on their certification, Ncell will make available the S3 to customers bundling a service of its Pro plans free of cost for 12 months.
Customers buying the S3 will get 700 minutes local calls, 700 local SMS and 70 MB data service of Ncell amounting to Rs 999 per month free.
The Galaxy S3 tracks the user’s eye movements to keep the screen from dimming or turning off while in use. It is equipped with Ice Cream Sandwich V4.0.4 Android operating system and has a 4.8-inch super AMOLED capacitive touch screen with multi-touch functionality. Inside, it is packed with a quad core processor of 1.4 GHz. The S3 also boasts an eight mega-pixel camera with features like auto focus and LED flash. It has a 1.9 mega pixel front facing camera too.
As for memory, the smartphone has an internal storage capacity of 16 GB which can be expanded to up to 64 GB
with a memory card. It weighs 133 gm and its dimensions are 136 mm by 8.5 mm. It is 70 mm wide and is powered by a 2100 mAh battery.
