According to the company, some of the models in this category come with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity making it convenient for users. Some of the models have High Sensitive (HS) sensor and are a specially designed mode for capturing pictures in the night time. “The HS sensitivity enables users to take pictures in the night that look like they were taken in the daytime,” Agrawal said. Cameras in this range are priced from Rs 11,590 to Rs 62,590.  Five new models, the 125, 230, 240, 500 and 510 have been launched in the Ixus series. These cameras have Wi-Fi mode, are fully HD and come with HS sensors. According to the company, the Ixus series is one of the most loved cameras from Canon in the domestic market, and the new variants have already started winning praise from customers. “All these cameras were launched a couple of days ago. The response for the Ixus series has been such that we have run out of stock on some models,” Agrawal said. They are available with capacities ranging from 12.1 to 16.1 mega pixel and carry a price tag of Rs 22,690 to Rs 35,990.
Likewise, the other new camera, the Eos 5D Mark III, is the successor to the popular Canon model Eos 5D Mark II. The company stated that the new device has class-leading features and has received a very good response in the global market. The company claims that the device is the first of its kind which features dual card slot enabling users to use both SD and CF cards.
“There are many admirers of this camera. However, only professional photographers and high-end gadget seekers will want to buy it because of its high price,” said Agrawal. The device has been priced at Rs 358,800. Similarly, the model with a 24/105 kit lens costs Rs 450,710.
Primax International has aimed to sell around 15 to 20 cameras annually inside Nepal . The company is also in discussion with some financial institutions to provide financing facility. “If the plan succeeds, demand will be very high. The finance facility will be available on all the high-end camera models,” said Agrawal.
